Welcome to our family blog!

Our family consistst of Steve, Paula, Sam, Camerin and Lucas. We are about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime; moving to Perth, Australia from Medford, Oregon. It's a very long way, to be sure, and the logistics of moving to a new continent are mind bending. That's a whole different blog topic, to be sure!



The plan right now is for Steve and Lucas to leave for Perth in mid-February. If all goes well, Steve will begin his new job as a construction supervisor on a massive commercial project just a few weeks after arriving in Perth. Unlike building prospects in the U.S., Perth is building like mad, with more work than people to do the work. Lucas will begin school and begin the process of reassimilating himself back into life in Australia and re-connecting with old friends.


Perhaps a little background for those of you who aren't already acquainted with the specifics...the Elam family (Steve, Cheryl (now deceased), Scotty, Andrew, Camerin and Lucas) lived in Perth about 5 years ago for a period of 4 years. With Cheryl now deceased and job prospects for builders as poor as they've been in years Steve began to look into going back to Perth; considered by him to be one of the most desireable locations to live on the planet. It didn't take long for him to snag a job over there, with a little help from his Aussie friends. Let the planning begin!
